The Race of the Ancient Egyptians

Michael S. Heiser (who I quote regularly in many of my posts) has compiled some academic material over at his PaleoBabble blog here debunking the notion that the ancient Egyptians were black. My foot is getting numb from all the dead horse kicking.

  2. Of course they were “black.” The problem with studying the race of the Egyptians is the assumption that the Egyptians were of a different race because they had lighter skin than the other Africans. Even Frank Snowden (whom your source mentions) makes the mistake of assuming the Egyptians and Nubians were racially different because they were different shades. Black people are not literally black, but rather different shades of brown. The Egyptians were a light shade of brown.

  3. Ben is obviously racist. What kind of idiot what deny that Egyptians were black? My skin is brown, my mothers is yellow, does that mean we're not black? Get out of here with that nonsense.

  4. You cannot trust a white guy to accurately portray African history & culture. What sort of credibility have they got?
