Interpreting Exodus through Egyptology

Scott Noegel from the University of Washington, in his paper "Moses and Magic," has attempted to read Exodus through the eyes of an ancient Egyptian.  His conclusion: the author of Exodus was deeply aware of Egyptian culture.  Exodus contains subtle Egyptian theological and linguistic references, and Egyptology provides a context for many of the confusing texts in Exodus.
